Forum Booster.
September 6, 2008
There is this site called forum booster that pays you $0.10 per post that you make in a forum. However the downside is that they assign you your forum topics, but its no biggie. Honestly, I am a big fan of Associated Content, don’t get me wrong, but you have the ability to earn more money here on Forum Booster than on Associated Content because you can easily earn more than $5.00 per hour, It doesn’t take that long to post to a forum. It takes too long to sit there, research the article, write it, edit it then submit the Article to AC. So give this a try, I will post more on this site when I have more time.
Chocolates and employment
June 21, 2008
I have been making and selling chocolates on and off for about 3 years now. The idea came about when I was craving for a single piece of bite-size, good quality chocolate and I could not find any so I figured why not make some! Oddly enough, I am not a chocolate lover that is why I was only looking for a single piece of chocolate…why waste an entire bar if I will not eat it.
My chocolates were very simple and very affordale and I was selling them in schools and small shops. Business was good but chocolate-making does take a lot of hours and energy to make. It would take me about 3 to 4 hours to finish 200 pieces and I would make them around the wee hours of the night after my regular work. So chocolate-making became my “in-between jobs” job…I would sell my chocolates if I was out of work.
If you will ask me, “What are you doing right now?” I would answer “Selling chocolates”, you will know that currently I am part of under “Self-employed”…
Small Time Business
June 14, 2008
In this trying times, everybody wants to engage in business. Majority of them are the low income families. They want to start small hoping that someday it will become big and successful.
There are few that are lucky enough to have saved and invested with their own money. But how about the other few? They will resort to borrowing money. What if the small business failed, they will be still stuck to poverty. Worst, the borrowed money is earning interest, so nothing’s gained.
And why do small business failed? Some factors are the lack of knowledge in handling the money and the insufficent know how in running the business. Most of us didn’t know that running a business doesn’t rely on capital alone.
Blogging Post Frequency
June 1, 2008
For those who want to earn money through blogging, one of the key factors in making money with it is posting frequently. When I say frequently, I mean at least one post per day. Someone serious about blogging may even want to maximize their efforts by posting two to three times per day.
If you have Google AdSense and other advertising on your site that could earn you money, you want to post regularly so that people come back on a regular basis. Blog readers like to frequent sites that stay up to date and that do not just post once in a while.
People who begin blogging often start off excitedly, but they lose their steam quickly if they are not earning Google AdSense right away. It takes time to build up a readership and it takes a lot of work and devotion on the part of the blogger to make sure they are doing everything they can to gain traffic to their site.
One common mistake is that people will give up too early before they can see the rewards of their work.
“Business of the Year’ Being a Virtual Assistant
May 31, 2008
I believe that in the 21st century, no one should have to commute and work with their business in a cubicle. That doesn’t just include the big wigs who have the “privilege” of working from home because they have access to everything… it includes everyone. Like secretaries.
So, if you are in a business, or if you want a great start-up business, go for being a virtual assistant. This work from home opportunity has actually been named the business deal of the year because the demand is starting to grow. And, you can expect that in the future, I see business after business turning to this particular job description in order to get the help they need. If they ever figure out what it is.
Basically, a virtual assistant is your help desk from home. They can do correspondence, data entry, data management, planning and even run personal errands for you. At this point, there are typically virtual assistants who specialize in one type of business in order to work more effectively… or one type of craft.
Starting as a VA (virtual assistant), is simple. You build up a business presence, like any start-up and see if you can find businesses that are looking for commuting or work from home opportunities. Just make sure it is legitimate. In fact, this particular job is so well - known that there is even an international group that you can get in touch with so that you can build your reputation and credentials through becoming certified.
Simple, effective and if you are good at it, an easy way to make some good income.
Happy earning!
5 Bad Business Mistakes
May 28, 2008
Okay entrepreneurs of the world. I know that if you are starting up, you are going to make mistakes. It’s part of the business. It doesn’t matter if it’s a side business or something that you are going to do for a living. If you are doing it on your own, you are bound to run into some heavy traffic on every side. So, here’s my recommendations of what not to do.
1. Don’t start without a system. A well known mistake is to start grabbing for work without having things in place. The amount of confusion that it causes is ridiculous. And, it leaves an open door for customers to come in and start problems.
2. Don’t let customers have their way. Whether it is a service or a product, make sure that you are in charge. The best advice I have ever gotten is to make sure that you have an air tight system that customers can’t slip through the cracks with.
3. Don’t fake it. My grandfather calls this ‘blue sky.’ It’s where businesses will make up their reputation, customers and advertising in order to draw people in. The problem is, it causes blue sky, meaning that they don’t have the honesty and sincerity to tell who they really are. Let your customers and other employees know that you are just starting, then build your reputation, not the other way.
4. Don’t act like you got it when you don’t. Making the transition from work world to entrepreneur world is a change in pace. When you have a boss, you sometimes have to fake doing work. When you are an entrepreneur, don’t do it. You will be much more respected if you ask questions and are honest with others…. even if it means you can’t do the work for them.
5. Don’t play stupid. Just because you are just starting doesn’t mean you are dumb. If you have a system down, there is no need for you to be “lost,” “confused,” “In the dark,” or anything else. I hate when new entrepreneurs play this game… everyone looses.
So, my real advice. Don’t be an idiot. Know what you are getting into, and get into it all the way. It will allow you to have a good business, not a chaotic one….even from the beginning.
Blogging For Profit
May 20, 2008
A lot of times people think that blogging for a living is an easy and quick way to make money. If you like to write, it may be easy for you but it takes a lot of time, effort and dedication. I have been blogging for over 2 years now and I am finally at the level where I qualify for a Google Adsense check monthly. It has also taken that entire time to build up a solid, great readership and a good reputation online.
Depending on where you look online, you can write for so much cash per post or part of the ad revenue. If you are blogging for yourself, you can use Google Adsense, Amazon and other affilliates in order to earn extra cash.
The key to making it in blogging is to post daily, promote your site by commenting on other people’s blogs and staying consistent.
I Don’t Want To Work Anymore
May 3, 2008
So, I’ve been a growing and developing entrepreneur for a couple of years now. I’ve been going through some pretty rough ropes in trying to figure out how this works and what is going on. Honestly, when I started, I had not a clue. I was a musician before I was a business owner, and it was a complete 360 to get here.
After a couple of years, I’m getting tired. I’ve had to work, re-work and start over again about 5 times in order to just keep going. Of course, I’m happy to say that it’s finally working, with the realization that I probably have a couple more years to go.
I’m not saying any of this to be discouraging, but if you are really trying to start up your own business and get to being your best, it’s not going to be eating cake and ice cream the day after you plunge into the work. In fact, it’s probably going to take you some time.
The reason why is because it takes development of your skills, policies, customer interactions and defines you by what you are doing with the little stuff. A lot of little stuff. It’s what keeps you running. And, even if you are doing something simple, like Adsense or selling on e-bay, it still takes time to build yourself up, become your own expert and truly jump into what you are supposed to be doing.
So, a word to the wise, before you jump into A business without looking both ways across the street - know that it is going to take time, lessons, mistakes - and sometimes just being plain exhausted with trying to get yourself going.
No, here’s my real word to the wise. Hang up pictures of the vacation you want to take when you do jump over that line, get rich and can use your passport anywhere.
Start a Poultry Egg Business
May 1, 2008
Many people cannot afford to house a great many birds and take care of them. If you live in the city, chances are that you are not even allowed to have a bird or rooster in your yard. But, did you know that there are many terrific places that you can purchase poultry eggs?
You don’t need a rooster to have your hens lay eggs. You can get good egg layers and keep them in cages in a spare room in your home or in a storage shed with light, water and food. Have the hens lay eggs and then you can sell them to friends and relatives to eat.
This is a great little side business to make you some extra money.
Pet Bathing Side Biz
April 28, 2008
A friend of mine asked me to bathe her dog. She was feeling ill and the dog really stank. She gave me a little bit of money for helping her out. About a week later, another friend asked if I could help bathe a stray kitty she found. Same thing, I got a little bit of money.
I put an ad in the local paper that I would assist with pet bathing. Since then, I get calls for dogs, cats and even a ferret. This is a good side biz because there is no startup cost. Also, you can just let a few people know and work as little or as much as you want to.
