Twittering for Business

September 11, 2008

Do you use Twitter?

I’ve heard that blogging breaks the barriers between Author and Audience. Well, Twitter breaks the barrier between blogger and commenter. It’s group instant messaging or microblogging for your phone or on the web. Whenever Stick’s dad asks me about a tech buzzword, I make an offline comparision and end with “Like one of those, but faster.” Slower offline Twitter would be, um, talking.

Twitter also has a lot of applications for a small business. But…

There’s been a lot of chat about good Twitterquette, my own take is that tweeting a blog post, mentioning your new site and promoting a story you like are all fine. But endless posts pointing to one site or misleading links (which is even easier with the use of TinyURL or a similar program to reduce the characters in a link) is spammy.

I’m sure there will be debate on Twitterspam like there’s debate on linkbaiting. What do you think?

In supervisitas.com you can increase your web traffic. How it works ? Simple you sign in to get an account - free one (basic account) or paid one (gold account).
When you get your account, you have to visit the web page of other members to get points, each web visit = 1 point. With a minimun of 2 points, you get 1 visit for your site. So more you visit members web site, more you get point and more people can visit your site.

Online store

September 10, 2008

Putting up a business is crucial. There are lots of things to be considered. Financing to start the business is not that easy. Proper handling of money is a must or it will become a waste. But how can we do the easiest and practical way. My suggestion is to put up an online store first. Selling the products online can save much. It can introduce our product through website. It is the effective way to make our business known. It’s an advantage for us because people nowadays spend much time in surfing the net. The first concern that we have to focus is how to market our website. There are now different ways in doing that like effective putting up of keywords or SEO(search engine optimization). Different experts or software that can help us with this.

Selling Online

September 9, 2008

It is the first time I tried selling pre-loved things online to earn extra money. This is one thing that will help me clear my clutter at home because I’ll be saying goodbye to the things I no longer use and to the things I no longer want and at the same time earn a few bucks. So far I’ve sold a few things.I think I’ll keep this up until I sold all the things that I don’t need anymore..

I don’t mean to be harsh to another CL poster, but, what a difference a minor typo makes.

Forum Booster.

September 6, 2008

There is this site called forum booster that pays you $0.10 per post that you make in a forum. However the downside is that they assign you your forum topics, but its no biggie. Honestly, I am a big fan of Associated Content, don’t get me wrong, but you have the ability to earn more money here on Forum Booster than on Associated Content because you can easily earn more than $5.00 per hour, It doesn’t take that long to post to a forum. It takes too long to sit there, research the article, write it, edit it then submit the Article to AC. So give this a try, I will post more on this site when I have more time.

Make $3 for submitting a 100 word tip to Dailytips.com

September 4, 2008

Wouldn’t it be nice to make $3 for about 45 seconds of work? If you say no to this then you are nuts. Minimum wage is $7.15 per hour.Translated into minute terms each minute of our time is worth less than 12cents. Does that seem fair to you at all? A lot of work can be accomplished in one minutye depending on your line of work, there is no reason why working for even minimum wage should be such a stiff. Luckily I have found an alternative to this. It is called Dailytips.com, and each tip you submit that gets accepted makes you $3. Writing tips for dailytips.com takes less than a minute if you have already got this idea in your head. Submit 3 tips per day every day of the month(roughly three minutes per day), and make a nice chunk of change as side income of $270 per month. That is often more of a payment than most minimum wage full time checks. However I do not recommend quitting your day job just yet to pursue working with this website full-time, so keep your day job folks. The downside is that 2/3 of the submissions Dailytips receives get turned down, but you will be sent an email within minutes to know the status of your submission, My advice is keep trying until you reach success and try to find off the chart topics to write about such as “How to keep your pet warm during a walk in the rain”. Very random, I know. With this site the more random your topic the better chances of getting your tip accepted.Happy tipping!

Today.com

September 3, 2008

What do you all think of the Today.com blog network? Has anyone gotten a real live check from these people? I made an account because I’m interested in a $1/post scheme in a world of .00000001 per word (or percentage of ad revenue). But I’m annoyed by the AdSense ads all over the control panel and I don’t know anyone who’s gotten paid yet. Some of their writers seem very good, though.

How about you? Have you signed up? Have you gotten a check yet?

Query Advice

September 2, 2008

I saw this today on How to Write a Query Letter : PoeWar.com Writer’s Resource Center

In the age of email, much can be said for the ability to quickly send off a brief query. This is very possible these days, and may result in more sales than writing a formal query for each publication you wish to write an article for. Still, if you want to impress an editor, online or otherwise, a formal, well-written query letter is a way to do it. Below is a point-by-point description of how to write a query letter.

Know your target

* Study any publication before you submit a query letter.
* Get writer’s guidelines for the publication if they are available.
* Study the publication’s masthead to identify the appropriate editor for your query. Do not rely on Writer’s Market. Editors change jobs frequently.
* You may send the same subject query to more than one publication, as long as they do not compete and you have taken the time to make sure the subject is appropriate for both publications
