Yuwie is a relatively new social networking site. It’s similar to myspace.com, but in my opinion, better. Yuwie offers many features and the ability to meet friends from your local area or around the world.

Some Yuwie features:

Member created layouts - for anyone to use
Member profiles - which are customizable
Member blogs - you can submit poetry, talk about your day or most anything
Photo albums - members can create photo albums to share or to keep private
Videos - members can submit videos and also view videos from a large selection
Clubs - a large variety of member-created clubs
Messaging - members are able to message each other on Yuwie
Profile rating - profiles can be rated from 1 - 10
Actions - for fun, you can send your friends flowers, a hug, a smile or even throw a grenade or poke them with a stick

You can make your profile private so only friends you choose can see or make it visible to the public. There are privacy settings where you can show you are online or be invisible. Other features include, being able to block members, the choice to show your location or not, the choice who can leave comments or send messages, etc.
Korry Rogers is the founder of Yuwie and also known as Y-Guy. I’ve listened to him on the Now Live Radio show associated with Yuwie. He’s a very nice man and listens to his members, answering questions and taking their ideas into consideration. He also strives to keep the site clean, unlike some sites where objectionable content is abundant.

For what many people do on other social networking sites, Yuwie has a unique feature. Yuwie shares the revenue with members. This isn’t a scam and there are no fees to join. Registration and membership are free. You will not get rich quick, but by building your site, referring others, your income will increase over time. You also make money off of those that join under you. The potential to make money is there, depending on your efforts. There are introductory videos to tell you more about Yuwie before joining.

I won’t mislead you and say that you will make a lot on Yuwie to begin with or for quite some time, but I will say that whether I was paid or not, I’d be pleased to be a member of Yuwie. I’ve met some wonderful people and enjoy a site that is user friendly and clean, yet consider Yuwie to be my not-so secret side business.

Voice Overs

Everyone knows the movie guy - the one that talks in the background for all of the previews with the low, slow voice and the intensity of getting an audience in.

If you have the capacity to make a little bit of an investment and want the return that the movie guy gets… go for voice overs.  This is an easy way to get some good doe and to do it easily… with a little practice of course.

Voice overs is becoming a popular income for wanna-be actors and actresses, as well as those who can seduce an audience just by talking.  With the growth of audio and multi-media on the Internet, it’s getting to the point where it’s going to hit the main stream even more.  One can look at marketplaces on the Internet and find that this particular profession is starting to take off.

Of course, if you really want to do it right, you will have to invest a little.  There are voice over classes that can help you to work on your acting skills - specifically your pronunciation, types of voice overs and the business side of it.  You will also have to invest in some recording equipment.  A mic, mixer and some basic recording software should do the trick. You’ll then have the ability to put together a portfolio and start making money off of talking.

If you want a step into something a little different, and with something that’s about ready to hit into multi-media world in a big way - take it from the movie guy.  Voice overs is a good move for a start up business.

Content sites and blog networks can be great gigs for writers or all levels. Just be sure to read all the fine print and ask the right questions. If traffic and revenue are issues, get all the details beforehand. Overcoming Business Hurdles

In the business world, it is said that if you make it past your first two years, the rest will be gravy.  This is because those first two years are going to be your biggest learning curves of putting everything together and figuring out exactly where your business stands.

If you are trying to put everything together, following some simple start up rules will help you to become legitimate, gain recognition as a business and to offer a genuine service or set of products.

The number one rule is to have a plan and to stick to it.  It doesn’t matter if you are earning extra income on the side or are trying to freelance or build a Fortune company.  It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but have some sort of vision, set of goals and things to reach within a certain amount of time.  By doing this, you will have something to work towards that can become a staple during those rough times.

Even though you have a vision and set of goals, you have to work towards achieving it.  Setting up policies and procedures is the best start to doing this.  It will save you time, headache and bad experiences.  Of course, don’t just set them up - stick to them.  There’s nothing worse than not having a way to deal with a customer who wants to step over you.  By having this in place, you will never have a problem with finances, customers or complications.

Don’t expect to be an instant millionaire.  I wish it were as simple as just adding water, but hopefully whatever you are doing is more than a packet of Ramen Noodles.  Expect some down times with the business, financially and think about ways to overcome this.  This will help you to really achieve your goals.

I decided to stay at home and not work at all. After a few months of being at home I realized that with one income I did not have the money to do some of my favorite things.  Some of my favorite things are getting manicures and pedicures, going to Target and just getting stuff LOL. Courthouse Researching

For several years, I made a considerable income as a Courthouse Researcher.  My job primarily consisted of going to the courthouse or to courthouses online and pulling specific types of mortgage documents.  The documents varied from Mortgage Filings, Tax Lien Filings, Seller Carry back Mortgages, just to name a few.  I even worked for one company where all I did was pull copies of mortgage filings.  This differs from Title Abstracting.  In title abstracting, you are trying to provide proof that a title is clear from any encumbrances.   Some purposes that clients may use researchers for are Direct Mail Marketing, background research, statistical analysis, insurance solicitation, and many other purposes.

If you’re looking for something as some supplemental income, this may be something that is right up your alley.  I was fortunate enough to gain a couple of large contracts with big companies that were expanding and ran a nice sized business for a while.  Today there are many more courthouse research businesses out there so the field may be a little oversaturated to make this a full time business, but if your looking for something that can provide supplemental income, this may be right up your alley.  A typical researcher when they get up to speed can average around $12 an hour, but many others average much more.  If you’re interested in performing courthouse research, do a search on Google.  There are many resources out there regarding researching.

One word of warning is that if you are hired or considered for a research position, the position will need to be in a courthouse that is not online.  Many online courthouses are being researched by overseas vendors or lower wage hourly employees.  There are many many areas that are not online and companies are always hiring.  Even if a company isn’t hiring for your area, submit your resume or an application.  This line of work has high turnover and you never know when a spot may open up.  Good luck to you and have fun researching.
