Make Money Completing Offers?

One way to “make money online” that is becoming more and more popular is get paid to complete “free” offers. The way this works is after signing up you get to see a list of offers you can complete. In some offers you get money in your balance instantly and others it might take 2 days or more so they can verify that you follow all the steps to signing up for a certain offer.

Different offers might be join poetry.com and write a poem or two, joining get paid surveys and more. Other offers could include signing up for a credit card. Once approved and you make a purchase you can get $50 or more, and some offers are worth over $100 if you sign up.

I tested out some of these offer websites to check them out and from day one noticed the instant downside. First while they claim “free” offers, not all are free. Some like the surveys are free in the sense that you sign up and you get 50 cents when you do, but unless you create a special email address you will start getting tons of email to do surveys.

Others are actually free trials but they consider that free. Firstly, they want your credit card number when you sign up. However if you sign up for 20 different free trials and don’t keep up with them, such as cancelling them before time is up you will quickly find your credit card full of charges.

Other offers include you actually paying for or buying something and you can get back $30, $50 or more such as the case of BestGlyconutrients. You recieve $160.00 if you order their package of nutrients. However, not completing this offer saves you more money if you consider that a six month’s supply costs $$1099 plus tax and shipping.

They say however that many get these nutrients at no cost but upon further reading they say that because you also enroll in their self-funding program. For instance you sucker two friends or family members into joining and ordering this stuff and you recieve $200 for every person you get to join. Can anyone say pyramid scheme? But recall it’s not easy getting people to join things and your vitamins might not be as “free” as they claim it can be in a couple months.

One offer I tried out was a 12 bottle of wine offer. This is usually over $100 but I could sign up for just $50 plus a free gift which was a wine opener worth over $130. You recieve $30 for completing this offer.

I said ok $50 plus maybe $10 or so for shipping. Completed the offer only to be charged over $80 for a $50 offer. I ended up cancelling it. Plus only afterwards do they tell you that you have to sign up with the same email or you won’t get credited. Needless to say I was not happy. I tried a few more to get a good look around and I think it’s an ok program if you keep a notepad of what you signed up for, the web address, the phone number of where to call and cancel and what card and date to cancel before trial is up.

Another thing I noticed is that nearly all these places only let you call to cancel. You cannot end a free trial online the same way you signed up because they want it to be difficult. Think Aol difficult.

Plus you have to realize you are giving your info to a lot of places that will more than likely sell it. From your email to phone number, name, address and credit card just to make a few bucks. At the end of the day is it worth it? For some yes. Some people are making a couple hundred using different websites that do these offers. However, that’s IF they even pay you. In the case of one such site, I couldn’t cash out to Paypal because there was a big red message saying they were having “problems” putting up the checkout link to Paypal, but of course no problems putting the links for you to do offers.

Then when the link came back, it was only half there. By that I mean you could check out but just to be sure you are a “real person” you have to sign up and be approved for a credit card or do a “free” credit report and then you can cash out.

I am even more weary of these places because some sites like the free credit card report are a little tricky. While you sign up at one site you are than taken to another the real site.

The one I was taken to is a place where you sign up to be part of a discount club and they are as bad as AOL when it comes to cancelling. My mother had accidentally joined it when signing up for something else and they charged her checking account $9.99 for over a year because she couldn’t get it cancelled. She finally closed the account to get rid of them.

So like I said you and some others that are determined can make money, but you have to be careful and keep an eye on things.

Profits from a Dollar Store?

One of the new big things on the Internet these days is instant businesses in the form of online dollar stores. There are many different companies that will set one of these sites up for you, usually for a monthly fee (one I investigated charged $20 a month, but I’m sure they vary).

All you have to do is sign up and hand over some credit card information and you can be set up with a website that sells all sorts of stuff, mostly for a dollar, almost instantly.

You won’t have a lot of control over what is in your “store” because it is based on whatever overstocks or deals the company has at the time. Bu

t you also don’t have to keep inventory, ship items, bill or deal that much with customer service.

What you do have to do, however, is somehow get traffic to your site. Sure, you can get all your family and friends to shop there, but the limited inventory will probably make it difficult for you to have a bunch of repeat customers. So you’ll have to find a way to get strangers to visit your site, which can be a little tricky.

The dollar store site I looked at not only allowed you to sell but could also be used as a recruiting tool to get other people to sign up for their own dollar stores. You would make a lot more money for getting referrals than you would selling the chintzy little items on the site.

If you’re good at the whole pyramid scheme thing or have a lot of friends who love dollar stores, this could be a good side biz for you. But it probably needs to be one of many side businesses, as it’s not likely you’d make enough even to pay your rent from such a business, le
